Saudi Arabia's Construction Boom Hits 2026 Peak in March
Saudi Arabia’s contracting market delivered its strongest performance of 2026 in March, with eleven contracts awarded at a combined value exceeding $4.2 billion (SR15.6 billion), nearly five times February’s total.
The surge reflects the Kingdom’s accelerating push to deliver infrastructure under its Vision 2030 agenda, with Riyadh Province alone accounting for 82 percent of total investment, hosting nine of the eleven projects.
Building and construction dominated activity, representing over SR15.5 billion in value. Education facilities led all sub-sectors at SR3.9 billion, followed by commercial real estate at SR3.7 billion. The remainder covered hospitality, mixed-use, and infrastructure projects, signaling a diversified and active pipeline.
Key project owners included National Housing Co., Talaat Moustafa Group Holding, and Al Muhaidib Group, with landmark awards covering phases of Dahiyat AlFursan in Riyadh, Diriyah’s hospitality components, and entertainment infrastructure at Qiddiya City. Most projects are targeted for completion by 2032.
Looking ahead, approximately 18 contracts are expected in April, centered on Madinah and the Eastern Province, with major tenders anticipated from Saudi Aramco, the Public Investment Fund, and the Ministry of Transport.
